Wonder Man trailer gives Marvel fans what they really want ...

Check out the first full trailer below which prominently features Ben Kingsley. The eight-part series premieres January 27th, 2026 and appears to be about making an in-universe superhero film and clearly nods to the real world exhaustion with superhero flicks. We’ll have to wait and see if some self-aware jokes are going to be enough to keep Wonder Man from becoming another forgettable Marvel show, though.

Scientists may have spotted ‘wind’ blowing from the Milky Way’s supermassive black hole.

Most supermassive black holes don’t just swallow up matter, they eject it, sometimes in spectacular jets of super heated plasma. Sagittarius A* at the center of our galaxy has seemed oddly quiet, though. But scientists believe they’ve finally found evidence this plasma wind, in the form of a cone-shaped gap in the gas surrounding the black hole. It’s not quite as dramatic as Centaurus A, but it has it’s own galactic charm.

Surprise: DOGE didn’t actually cut spending.

Elon Musk rode a Cybertruck into DC declaring that he would cut up to $2 trillion in government spending. The reality: The federal government actually spent $220 billion more, up four percent for the year. In fact, spending was up almost across the board with only a few exceptions according to the Congressional Budget Office:

Other than student loans, the only major categories in which CBO said spending actually declined were the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, because it spent less resolving bank failures, and the Small Business Administration, because disaster-related loan costs in 2024 didn’t recur in 2025. - Wall Street Journal

Crisis averted: Asahi starts shipping Super Dry again.

Japan’s weekend is saved now that shipments of Asahi Super Dry have resumed following a ransomware attack that shutdown Japan’s most popular brewery last week. (Russian-speaking hacking group Qilin claimed responsibility.) There were concerns that the nation’s supply could evaporate in just a few days, but things are slowly returning to normal:

Asahi Breweries resumed production at all six of its domestic factories from October 2 and partial shipments of Asahi Super Dry has resumed. Beginning October 15, partial shipments of products including Asahi Draft Beer and Asahi Dry Zero will also resume, as part of ongoing recovery efforts.
