    Another day, another Xbox controller.

If there’s one thing you can’t accuse Microsoft of it’s a lack of Xbox controllers. Microsoft is launching a new Nocturnal Vapor Special Edition Xbox Wireless Controller today, that’s a contrast of dark and light green with a swirl effect. It might not be as cool as the Starfield Xbox controller, but this $69.99 Nocturnal Vapor edition is available to preorder right now.

Microsoft delights IT admins by removing Copilot from Windows Server 2025.

Microsoft is working on finalizing its Windows Server 2025 release and IT admins discovered last month, in disbelief, that Copilot was added to a server OS that’s usually free of additional Windows features. A month later and Microsoft has removed Copilot from test builds of Windows Server 2025. We’ll keep an eye out to see if it manages to sneak back in for the final release.

Microsoft is removing WordPad from Windows 11 later this year.

The basic WordPad app has shipped as part of Windows since Windows 95. but Microsoft announced last year that it’s removing it from Windows 11. Now we have a rough date for the removal. “WordPad will be removed from all editions of Windows starting in Windows 11, version 24H2 and Windows Server 2025,” says Microsoft. We’re expecting version 24H2 of Windows 11 later this year, and hopefully with a much better update name.

Microsoft’s gaming chief hints that Xbox could get PC stores one day.

Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has dropped some hints that PC stores like Epic Games Store and Itch.io could one day arrive on Xbox consoles. In an interview with Polygon, Spencer says the console market isn’t growing and that there are barriers that exist today. “How can we be part of opening up that model?” asks Spencer, hinting at a potentially radical rethinking of Microsoft’s Xbox console ecosystem.
