Why is Android trying to hide these important buttons?

Mishaal Rahman has found that Android’s quick pulldown menu, where you toggle Wi-Fi or turn on the flashlight, might be harder to get to in a future release of the OS.

A single swipe down will apparently only show you notifications. It takes two fingers for the settings buttons — no other option. We saw something similar in a recent Samsung UI 7 leak.

The police are taking Teslas down to the station for questioning.

Tesla vehicles come with Sentry Mode that can act like surveillance cameras on wheels if triggered, so police in the Bay Area (lots of Teslas around) have been getting warrants to tow them to retrieve footage because it may have recorded a crime. In one case with Oakland Police, it helped catch some alleged murderers.

The Nissan Leaf’s bi-directional charging dream continues.

The Leaf still hasn’t quite gone quietly into the night. Instead, Nissan is revitalizing its bi-directional charging abilities by approving new vehicle-to-grid charging hardware from Fermata Energy. Compared to the previous hardware, the new FE-20 is cheaper and supports 33 percent more power and additional UL and IEEE certifications. I’d say it’s a small win for the dying CHAdeMO charging port standard, too.
