Yesterday this alleged prototype of a refreshed Tesla Model 3 popped up on Reddit.

The facade looks a little like Tesla’s new-but-forever-delayed Roadster. The image’s source is a mystery, posted by a Redditor with an over ten-year history who “Just wanted to share it.”

As-is, we cannot confirm if this is the “Highland” Model 3 that was reported to be in the works last year or some kind of AI-generated swag pope fakery. One thing is clear — from all the bugs splattered on the front, this car seems to be getting road time without any camouflage.

Supposed “Model 3 refresh” posted to the r/teslamotors subreddit. Note the Tesla Roadster-like headlights, missing badge, and new rims.

What’s peculiar with the latest EVs?

The 2023 New York Auto show showcased a few weird car designs, and even one with a surprise under the front badge.

Once we shook off the distraction of a Nintendo Switch-infused Toyota Grand Highlander, we set out to find EV oddities like the Genesis GV60’s orb, an Ioniq 5 playing Fantasia, and the Kia EV9 that, disappointingly, won’t have a rotating center seat in the US model.

    This is Frunk Talk.

Many electric vehicles have front trunks (aka frunks) for extra storage space; since they lack internal combustion engines that gas cars generally have under the hood.

It’s one of the most overlooked features in EVs — so we made it our mission at this year’s New York Auto Show to check out in which new electric vehicles can you junk up the frunk. Frunk, frunk frunk.
