Elon says Starship will be ready to fly again in two months.

A little over a month after Starship obliterated its launchpad and went kablooey before it reached stage separation, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk tweeted that it will be ready again in about two months, pending launchpad upgrades and rocket testing.

Yesterday, SpaceX released a dramatic video recapping the first flight, if you want to watch it with synth-heavy piano music behind it.

Microsoft says suspicious code coursing through our old routers is linked to Chinese state surveillance of the US.

The company says a group called Volt Typhoon has been targeting critical US infrastructure, notably in Guam, since 2021 with information-gathering code. The group’s traffic has been routed through ordinary routers and other edge networking gear, which often never get updated.

Microsoft says its access could be leveraged for attacks on utilities and that shutting it down could be difficult. The New York Times has a good write-up. As always, update your tech, folks.

Sacrifice yourselves to send me Zelda: TotK mini-boss selfies, it’ll be fun.

I don’t know if this is A Thing because I’ve been avoiding all online Tears of the Kingdom discourse, but a friend’s been taking selfies with mini-bosses right before they wreck him, and now I am too.

So here’s what I want to do: send your best mini-boss selfies to me at [email protected] with the subject line “Zelda mini-boss selfie” and the name you’d like credited. If we get enough, I’ll put the best ones in a post. Only two rules: no big bosses, and capture the moment before you’re slammed.

    Here, I’ll start:

Bard will show you food pics now if you ask about places to eat.

Google announced at IO that Bard would include images where relevant in its responses, and that change is live. Below, a tweet shows what that looks like. The images come from sites like Pinterest. I wish they were AI-generated for extra fun, but alas.

Still, I tried asking it for the best food in Austin, TX, and it failed to highlight Casino El Camino.

The iOS 16.6 beta is now out for public testing.

iOS 16.6 is in beta for public testers, just a few days after the iOS 16.5 update and 16.6 developer beta dropped on Thursday and Friday, respectively.

Don’t expect to see any significant updates this close to the presumed announcement of iOS 17 at next month’s WWDC. It’s likely iOS 16.6 beta will mostly be testing small bug fixes.
