FAST TV is now built right into Android TV.

Just last month, Google crammed 800-plus free ad-supported channels into Google TV, and today it did the same for Android TV. Now it’s got Tubi, Plex, Pluto TV, and Haystack in addition to Google’s own free channels.

I don’t know why we need 800 of them if the only one that matters is the MST3K channel on Pluto TV, but why not?

Now you can watch all the MST3K you want without opening an app.

    Microsoft’s EU antitrust whack-a-mole continues.

Oof. Right as Microsoft gets approval for its Activision Blizzard buy, it apparently has another regulatory fight on its hands. Bloomberg reports that the EU antitrust wing is investigating whether it’s using confidential information to gain a competitive edge in the cloud services space there.

This comes after complaints from Cloud Infrastructure Service Providers in Europe (CISPE), a trade association of European cloud service providers.

The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus might be hard to get at launch.

MacRumors got ahold of a research note from supply chain analyst Jeff Pu at Haitong International Securities suggesting a new 48MP sensor stack for the camera in these non-Pro phones will lead to production issues.

MacRumors notes Pu was the first to claim that “design issues” would keep iPhone 15 Pro models from switching to solid-state buttons, which leaks and other analysts have backed up since then.

Britain is more blowy than gassy for the first time.

UK bioenergy production firm Drax Electric Insights reports that in the first three months of 2023, Britain’s wind turbines alone generated almost a third of its total electricity (via BBC). They just edged out gas power (32.4 percent versus 31.7 percent).

Overall, renewable sources — wind, solar, biomass, and hydroelectric — accounted for nearly 42 percent of its power, while non-renewables made up just 33 percent.
