Meta AI could start remembering things about your WhatsApp chats.

WABetaInfo spotted the feature in a recent beta for the Android version of the app, though it’s not yet accessible to normal beta testers.

The chatbot will reportedly be able to remember things when users ask and will apply that when giving things like food recommendations, say, by avoiding foods the user says they’re allergic to.

Former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati’s next move: another AI startup.

Murati is seeking venture capital funds for a new AI startup with its own proprietary models, Reuters reported Friday.

Barret Zoph, an OpenAI researcher who left the same day as Murati may join the venture, according to unnamed sources cited by the outlet.

Apple has some new hardware VPs.

In the wake of recent departures, Apple’s hardware head John Ternus has bumped three people to vice president positions— Richard Dinh, Dave Pakula, and Donny Nordhues — according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman today.

Dinh will head up the company’s iPhone road map. Ternus reportedly called Apple’s future models the “most ambitious in the product’s history” in a memo to the engineering team, Gurman writes.

The new iPad Mini has 8GB of RAM.

That’s according to recent benchmarks, as well as Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in today’s Power On newsletter.

The new iPad Mini having that much RAM isn’t shocking — the company boosted RAM for the iPhone 16, and is expected to for its upcoming Macs, likely in service of Apple Intelligence AI features expected this month.

2004 was a killer year for video game sequels.

Rob Dubbin’s Verge story about World of Warcraft drove me to check Metacritic’s aggregated review scores, filtered by that year. Apparently, that’s when some of my favorite sequels of all time released. To name a few:

    Half-Life 2

    • Halo 2

    • Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

    • Pikmin 2

    • Viewtiful Joe 2

    • Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
