You can now control Vizio SmartCast devices through Google Home

Vizio’s SmartCast devices can now be controlled directly through Google Home, in essence adding voice controls to Vizio’s latest speakers and TVs. It’s a natural move forward for Vizio, which has been making SmartCast — the company’s branding for its smart TVs and speakers with integrated Chromecast support — devices for a while now, including it’s P-, M-, and E-series TVs and a variety of Wi-Fi-connected speakers.

The Google Home voice commands will allow for users to start playing content on their devices through simple “OK Google” prompts. Additionally, the Google Home integration offers the usual gamut of media controls like volume, play, pause, skipping tracks, and even powering on the TV (if Vizio’s “Quick Start Power Mode” is enabled).
