Sharp knows how to do the no bezel look. Last year it showed off its Corner R display concept on a phone with a minimal bottom bezel, and now, the company is introducing its newest phone, the Aquos R, which incorporates the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 835 processor. The 835 is the same processor that’s in the Galaxy S8. But unlike the S8, the Aquos R still has prominent bezels. Sharp can make a phone without them, so why?
Sharp’s new Aquos R phone has a charging base that’ll find and face you during calls

Some other specs:
- 5.3-inch WQHD display
- Android 7.1
- 3,160 mAH battery
- 4GB RAM, 64GB storage
- USB-C
- 22.6-megapixel rear-facing camera; 16-megapixel front-facing camera
Sharp’s also announced a new built-in assistant called “Emopa” that’s launching alongside a new rotating charging dock that can apparently follow the direction of a user’s voice and identify his or her face when receiving a call. It’ll then then turn to face him or her while the Aquos R is in the cradle. That sounds slightly creepy but also kind of convenient, I guess. Either way, I want less bezels. That’s all. We don’t yet have pricing or availability.
