TiVo is likely planning to release a voice-controlled remote in the coming months, if an FCC filing is any indication. Dave Zatz first spotted the filing, which includes photos of the device. Most prominently, we can see a big, blue microphone button, as well as the addition of a Netflix button. This new remote is a long time coming. TiVo has a keyboard remote (the Slide Pro) and a companion Android / iOS app that works as a remote, but other companies like Roku, Sony, Dish, and Amazon have already issued voice-controlled remotes years ago. TiVo is way late to the game.

Still, I imagine anyone who uses one of these DVRs will be excited for voice control. Zatz says he expects a fall release and that older TiVo model users will be able to purchase remotes with a USB dongle.
