Etymotic has launched its latest ER3SE and ER3XR in-ear headphones as affordable alternatives to its high-fidelity, noise-isolating ER4 line. The ER3SE are the Studio Reference model, while the ER3XR Extended Response provide enhanced bass. Both headphones in the ER3 line costs $179 — a much more affordable alternative to the $349 ER4 line — while still providing noise isolation and studio-grade sound.

Etymotic originally started as an acoustics research and hearing aid company, and its focus on providing accurate sound reproduction has transferred over to the well-reviewed ER4s.

The ER3SE and ER3XR headphones come with detachable cables, so you can swap out your cables with a replacement if they get too worn. The company also provides a two-year warranty if you need it.
Both headphones in the ER3 line look pretty much identical, but the best part is that they cost nearly half as much as the ER4. The Etymotic ER3SE and ER3XR are available now on Amazon, Etymotic’s website, and other retailers.
