The Walking Dead’s latest spinoff looks like it might actually be worth a watch.

There have been so many middling spinoffs of AMC’s The Walking Dead that it has become easy to miss when a new one’s debuting.

But between the way The Walking Dead: Those Who Live’s new trailer brings Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes and Danai Gurira’s Michonne back into the picture, and makes it seem like the two will be reunited, the show might just be worth a watch when it premieres on February 25th.

Moon Girl season 2 is set to launch this February.

The first season of Disney and Marvel’s animation Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur ended with a cliffhanger that made it seem like Lunella Lafayette might be lost somewhere in the multiverse.

But in a new trailer for the animated show’s upcoming second season (out February 2nd), the young hero appears to be back in her home reality, rocking some new threads, and very ready to keep New York’s villains on their toes.

What If…? season 2 doesn’t get good until it really lets loose

What If’s second season is at its best when it’s exploring the edges of Marvel’s established cinematic canon.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is the quintessential DCEU movie

Despite occasionally gorgeous visuals, James Wan’s Aquaman sequel feels like a testament to everything that went right and wrong with the DC Extended Universe.

The live-action Yu Yu Hakusho series looks like a classic Netflix joint.

Especially in a post One Piece world, there’s always some hope of Netflix’s live-action anime / manga adaptations exceeding everyone’s expectations.

But judging from the looks of the wigs and special effects featured in the new trailer for Robot Communications’ upcoming spin on Yu Yu Hakusho, we might be in for another clunker.

Amazon’s adaptation of The Boys only just got to college with its Gen V spin-off, but the streamer has already greenlit yet another expansion of the franchise — this time set in Mexico — courtesy of Blue Beetle’s Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, Diego Luna, and Gael García Bernal.

The MCU’s Agatha Harkness seems to be back on her bullshit.

How Agatha Harkness: Darkhold Diaries will address the events of WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is anyone’s guess.

But in a new WandaVision behind-the-scenes feature reel which also includes some new Darkhold Diaries production footage), Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness appears to be back to her old seld, and messing with the kind of magic that tends to get people roped into big crossover events.

Science Saru’s Dandadan adaptation might just make a believer out of you.

Yukinobu Tatsu’s sci-fi / action / romance manga Dandadan tells the story of two teens who are dead certain that ghosts and/or aliens are probably real.

The manga has only been publishing for a couple of years, but Science Saru’s upcoming adaptation looks like it’s going to be pretty damn slick when it drops in 2024.

Take a closer look at The Marvels’ stars and garters.

The Marvels intriguing mid-credits sequence was yet another reminder that the X-Men are making their way to the MCU sooner rather than later.

It would have made a lot more sense, thematically, if Anna Paquin’s Rogue had popped up with a warning about the danger on the horizon. But looking at the artist Andy Park’s concept designs for an updated Beast closer to the comics, you can see why bringing Kelsey Grammer back was a solid move.

Harley Quinn season 5 is absolutely on its way.

As troubled as Warner Bros. Discovery’s universe of live-action projects based on DC’s comics are, none of that drama seems to be impacting Max’s Harley Quinn which has been renewed for a fifth season.

“We must have handed out at least three thousand NDAs by now,” executive producers Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey said In a statement about keeping the renwal secret. “It was a big waste of paper.”

Superman Legacy is still on time.

Not every comic book movie is getting a studio delay following the end of the actors strike. James Gunn posted on Threads today that Superman Legacy will still reboot the DC extended universe on its original planned date of July 11th, 2025.

If you need your Zac Snyder-era DCEU fix, much of it will shamble on next month on Netflix.

Blue Beetle will start streaming on Max next week.

I missed this in theaters, but I’m excited to catch up on it when it debuts on November 17th, as Warner Bros. Discovery announced yesterday.

Maybe the movie is a decade late, as Charles said in his review. But as a person who’s always fallen more on the DC side of the fence, this bit from his review’s opening paragraph has me looking forward to finally seeing it, anyway:

Blue Beetle feels like the end result of a creative team thoughtfully executing a plan to replicate certain elements of what’s made rival studio Marvel’s films so successful — and not just Warner Bros. clumsily trying to play catch-up.

Loki’s season 2 finale dug deep to find meaning in all of Marvel’s madness

Loki’s second season goes out with a big, existential bang that gives the god of mischief a glorious but confusing new purpose at the center of Marvel’s multiverse.

Netflix asks: “hey, you wanna see a dead cinematic universe?”

Warner Bros. Discovery’s old cinematic universe of DC Comics adaptations is essentially dead at this point. But in case you were feeling nostalgic for Henry Cavill’s Superman or Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress, most of the DCEU is making its way to Netflix this December.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off’s opening credits are here to rock.

Netflix’s Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is an “anime” the same way Justin Trudeau is the president of Canada. But if the series’ opening credit sequence is any indication, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is going to resonate with the North American otaku set when it hits Netflix on November 17th.

Loki season 2 looks like it’s going out with a bang.

Somehow (see: the relentless passage of time) Loki season two is already two episodes out from its big finale. And this new teaser Marvel’s just dropped makes it seem like the Asgardian god of mischief (and friends) are going to be busy as hell keeping the universe from falling apart as this latest chapter draws to a close.

Invincible season 2 is a thoughtful step toward a bigger universe

The second season of Amazon’s Invincible series feels plugged right into Hollywood’s current obsession with multiverses, but it’s taking notes directly from its classic comic’s source material.

Daredevil: Born Again has found its showrunner.

Marvel’s new Daredevil: Born Again Disney Plus series seemed to be in trouble earlier this month when the studio dismissed co-head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman, and announced that it planned to bring on a proper showrunner to lead the project.

It wasn’t clear then just how long the hunt for a showrunner might take, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel has just tapped Dario Scardapane — who showran Netflix’s The Punisher — to step in.

The first rule of being David Fincher’s The Killer is not giving a fuck.

The assassin at the heart of Netflix’s adaptation of The Killer from director David Fincher has to be extremely good at what he does in order to stay in business.

But rather than putting an emphasis on its central character’s unique talents, The Killer’s latest trailer emphasizes that the most important thing about being an assassin is not giving fuck about getting your hands dirty.

It’s not long until the season’s November 3rd debut. But if you’re eager to get your fix (and haven’t seen it yet), check out the 47-minute Invincible Atom Eve episode that Prime Video put up in July.

The Scott Pilgrim Takes Off hype is getting a little out of hand.

It can be really interesting to hear creators talk about how much money streaming studios like Netflix pour into their projects. But Scott Pilgrim Takes Off executive producer BenDavid Grabinski’s recent assertion to Empire magazine that the animated series would cost more than a “live-action” version of James Cameron’s Avatar raises more questions than it answers.

And here’s the trailer for the next Aquaman movie.

It has been forever since star Jason Momoa and director James Wan were initially linked to DC’s Aquaman franchise, and now its second movie is set for release on December 20th.

Following The Flash and Blue Beetle, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is now set to close out DC and Warner’s old comic book universe before the new James Gunn-led one starts with Superman: Legacy in 2025.

Arleen Sorkin, the voice of Harley Quinn, has died at 67.

Filmmaker James Gunn shared the news on Instagram last night (via Deadline). Sorkin had a long acting career in Television, most notably as Harley Quinn in Batman: The Animated Series.

In fact, the character existed because of her. No, really — Paul Dini, who brought us the series, based the character on a scene from Days of Our Lives featuring Sorkin in a clown suit.

Blue Beetle is the kitschy sort of superhero throwback DC should have been making years ago

Director Ángel Manuel Soto’s new Blue Beetle movie checks all the flashy, formulaic boxes Warner Bros. should have been focusing on when it first started trying to build a modern cinematic universe.

Strange Planet’s first trailer makes the Apple show seem exactly like the comic.

Whereas most comics adaptations tend to fiddle around with the tone and visual language that defined the source material they’re based on, Apple’s forthcoming Strange Planet looks and sounds almost like a carbon copy of creator Nathan W. Pyle’s webcomics that took the internet by storm a few years back.

Honestly? It’s sort of hard to tell whether this is a good thing, or not.
