Kate Mara calls for revolution against technology in new ‘Transcendence’ teaser

Kate Mara, best known for her role in Netflix’s House of Cards series, just showed up in a new teaser trailer for the upcoming Transcendence. As with yesterday’s trailer, the teaser focuses on the Singularity — what Johnny Depp’s character calls Transcendence — or the moment when technological progress outstrips the limits of biology. Here, however, Mara’s character Bree warns humanity of the dangers of self-aware technology and how machines will eventually use their power to destroy us. Her movement, RIFT or Revolutionary Independence From Technology, will likely play a pivotal role when the film hits theaters next April.
