Hollywood actors, directors, and producers sign letter opposing Paramount’s Warner Bros. acquisition.

Ben Stiller, Joaquin Phoenix, Tiffany Haddish, Bryan Cranston, and Lin-Manuel Miranda are among the over 1,000 Hollywood professionals pushing back on the $110 billion deal that they say will “further consolidate an already concentrated media landscape:”

We are deeply concerned by indications of support for this merger that prioritize the interests of a small group of powerful stakeholders over the broader public good. The integrity, independence, and diversity of our industry would be grievously compromised.

It follows some strange goings on at a retirement community, and if nothing else, it has an incredible cast with the likes of Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare, Clarke Peters, and Bill Pullman.

StubHub agrees to pay to $10 million to refund customers and settle deceptive pricing claims.

As Ticketmaster wraps up its antitrust defense, a different ticketing company is in the government’s crosshairs. The Federal Trade Commission accused StubHub of failing to show customers the full cost of tickets upfront, and the settlement would require clearer disclosure. StubHub spokesperson Jack Sterne said the settlement “covers a limited number of transactions” across three days, and though they disagree with the FTC’s view, “we are addressing their concerns by refunding a portion of those buyers’ fees.”

Update: Added comment from StubHub.

Borderlands on the go, for real.

If you want a mobile Borderlands game now that Borderlands 4 for Switch 2 is “on pause,” you can try the new Borderlands Mobile, which just launched on iOS and was developed by Take-Two-owned Zynga. I played a few minutes, and it seems like Borderlands; it’s an FPS with cel-shaded graphics and quips from Claptrap.

It doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but we do know the main cast, which includes Sam Rockwell, Scarlett Johansson, and Tom Waits as a one-eyed alien.

No Pokéman’s Sky.

The space-faring sim turns 10 this year, and it’s getting one of its strangest updates yet. Called Xeno Arena, the new addition lets players collect, train, and battle alien creatures, Pokémon-style. It even has multiplayer. Maybe it’s time I bring back my travel diary.
