As expected, Apple finally showed off its 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros at its recent “Pro and tell” event. The long-awaited laptops feature a Tandem OLED display with full touch capabilities, while also cutting some weight and bringing back the glowing Apple logo. While less exciting, there’s also an updated 14-inch MacBook Pro that features Apple’s M6 chip, along with improved wireless connectivity. It’s a small, somewhat iterative update of the prior generation, with no substantial new features beyond performance gains.

Alongside the MacBook updates, Apple also announced an M6-equipped iMac that starts at $1,499, with the same color variants as the previous generation. Lastly, the iPad Mini got some love, with a larger OLED display, smaller bezels, water resistance, and a slimmer, lighter design.
Preorders for the 14-inch MacBook Pro are available at Apple and Best Buy, while the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR display is currently only available for preorder from Apple, although we expect Best Buy to follow suit soon. For anyone looking to get their hands on either laptop before its November 6th launch, we’ve compiled information on configuration options, pricing, and retailer availability below.
Where to order the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display
The forthcoming MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display starts at $2,899 for the 14-inch model, or $3,399 for the 16-inch version, and begins shipping on Friday, November 6th. Two CPU options are currently available, each with an optional upgrade to add more cores. The base 14-inch M5 Pro model starts with 24GB of memory and 1TB of storage, and the upgraded $4,499 14-incher with the M5 Max starts with 36GB of memory and 2TB of storage, with maximum memory and storage options depending on CPU choice. It comes in space black and silver, and you can upgrade to nano-texture glass for $150.
The biggest new feature here is the PROLED XDR display. In addition to finally adding touch capabilities to the macOS lineup, the screen features a Tandem OLED panel, which Apple says can reach an impressive 2,000 nits at peak brightness, with a 120Hz refresh rate. This update also brings back the glowing Apple logo on the back of the shell, a feature that disappeared when the system slimmed down years ago.
Where to order the latest 14-inch MacBook Pro
The updated 14-inch MacBook Pro ships on Friday, November 6th, and comes in three CPU options. The M6 version with 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage starts at $1,999; the model with the upgraded M5 Pro chip and 24GB of memory and 1TB of storage starts at $2,499; and the top-end model with the M5 Max chip with 36GB of memory and 2TB of storage starts at $4,099.
Memory and storage upgrades are also available, with up to 32GB of memory and 4TB of storage on the M6 version, or 48GB of memory and 4TB of storage on the M5 Pro. The M5 Max has more limited options, but you can configure it with up to 128GB of memory and 8TB of storage if you also opt for the upgraded CPU. It’s available in both space black and silver, with the option to upgrade to the nano-texture display for an extra $150.
