According to Sony, the company's PlayStation 3 media remote control is being updated in "late October" to support TVs and Sony amplifiers. The refreshed peripheral also adds Netflix compatibility and volume and channel buttons. Although we don't have a price for the new remote, the original went for $25. While it's unlikely Sony will charge more for the added functionality, stranger things have happened.
