Members of the Club Nintendo loyalty program will soon be able to use their coins to buy downloadable games. A splash screen announcing the new rewards went up last week and was promptly pulled, but not before someone took a screenshot showing Super Mario Kart for Wii and 3D Classics: Xevious for 3DS being offered in exchange for registering purchases or taking surveys on Nintendo's site. The games haven't come back yet, but the news sidebar tells us this: "New rewards and games available for Coins coming soon. Please stay tuned!"

Currently, Club Nintendo offers mostly physical items, including shoelaces, posters, and cards. The amounts listed on the screenshot would make each game about half the price of a tote bag or a set of Mario folders and bookmarks — to earn those coins, you'd need to buy and register two Wii games or four 3DS games, or complete several surveys. Outside the coin economy, 3D Classics: Xevious will set you back $5.99.
