The most popular operating system in the world, Microsoft’s Windows is the software that powers hundreds of millions of PCs. Introduced back in November 1985, Windows has changed and evolved over time to grow as gaming, design, development, and productivity needs have shifted. Whether XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10, or, most recently, Windows 11, Microsoft’s OS is one of the most important pieces of software ever made.
Microsoft has been on a mission to improve the quick settings interface in Windows 11, adding a new volume mixer to it recently. In an upcoming update you’ll soon be able to scroll through quick settings, meaning you’ll have access to more settings from the taskbar. The latest Surface Laptop Studio 2 even has Windows Studio Effects in this area, with options to control the webcam’s background effects, eye contact, and automatic framing.

Now that the update’s launch on September 26th was announced during Thursday’s Surface, Windows, and AI showcase event, Microsoft released Windows 11 Build 22621.2361 (KB5030310) to the Release Preview Channel of its Insiders test program.

Microsoft has been investigating reports of a Blue Screen of Death with an “UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR” error message in the latest KB5029351 update. The issues have been affecting some MSI motherboards, and now MSI says “reverting your BIOS to the previous version” is a workaround. Microsoft has paused the update for affected systems, so hopefully MSI can issue a new BIOS update soon.
