Nokia's getting ready to launch its first round of Windows Phone handsets later this month, but it's not leaving its army of Symbian developers out in the cold — it's just helping convert them into Windows Phone developers. The company's teaming with Microsoft to give Symbian devs tools to port their apps to the new OS, similar to those already available for Android and iOS apps. They've also written the "Windows Phone 7 Guide for Symbian Qt Application Developers," an introduction to the new tools and platform from a Symbian perspective. It's a smart move, supporting the developers that are already dedicated to Nokia — and if these ported Symbian apps are any good, a smart way to get more users as well.
