HTC’s new Windows Phone 8 handset — codenamed “Accord” and rumored to debut as the HTC 8X at a press event in New York later today — has been revealed in leaked pictures published by PhoneArena. The new pictures show Verizon branding on the back of the handset, confirming earlier rumors about the device’s carrier availability, as well as the familiar Beats Audio logo. A quick look at the screen shows that the 8X includes Kid’s Corner, a Windows 8 feature which lets parents restrict their devices for safe use by children.

Hardware-wise, the device looks very similar to handsets shown in previous leaks, reportedly featuring a 4.3-inch 720p Super LCD 2 display. While the 8X is rumored to contain a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 chip, we will no doubt have a better idea of its internal specs in a few hours’ time.
