Nokia’s Lumia 920 devices in the US started receiving an over-the-air software update in December, but the so-called “Portico” update is rolling out to users worldwide. As before, it includes some camera fixes to improve blurry daylight images, and also features the new “always-on” Wi-Fi change alongside the ability to reject calls with an SMS and other messaging improvements. Aside from those camera improvements, this is the same update that first started rolling out to HTC’s Windows Phone 8X in early December. While it’s good that international users will get this helpful upgrade, we can’t help but find it strange that AT&T’s version of the Lumia 920 received this update before its unlocked, international counterparts. Regardless, this update is rolling out today, a good couple weeks early than first planned, in a “phased manner.” According to Nokia’s forums, the upgrade should be finished by mid-March.
