In what it’s touting as a “first among news organizations,” NPR’s mobile apps will now be compatible with the Ford Sync AppLink platform. That means full integration with Sync’s voice-control system, providing on-demand access to shows such as Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and Fresh Air. Saying “Hourly News,” for example, will play NPR’s breaking news; other options include playlist-building, topic selection (saying “science” will display a list of relate programs), and local news available across the country.
