The Turing Phone, which aims to be one of the most secure smartphones ever made, can now be reserved at the company’s website. You can’t actually preorder or put money down for this Android 5.1 device yet; this step merely gets you in the queue for when Turing Robotics Industries is ready to start shipping.
You can now reserve the weird and ultra-secure Turing Phone

Right now, potential buyers can choose from one of three color options (Beowulf, Pharaoh, Cardinal) and pick the amount of storage they want — 16GB, 64GB, or 128GB. And the Turing’s unique design and liquidmorphium construction don’t come cheap; the 16GB model is $610 (unlocked) with higher capacities priced at $740 and $870.
The last page asks for your name, email address, phone number, and home city before you can hit the reserve button. Whether you trust a largely unknown company with all of that data is your call to make. Reactions to our hands-on were all over the place; some described the Turing Phone as cool, others expressed disgust with its Winamp-like software interface, and still more said the lack of a headphone jack and standard USB were dealbreakers. But it’s undeniably a standout among today’s flagships, and we’re looking forward to seeing what the final product offers.
