More from The Switch 2 is here: everything you need to know about Nintendo’s new console
Mechanism (née Deckmate) builds some of the most thoughtful and clever modular handheld accessories, with loads of mounts and adapters and a pillow to hold a handheld’s weight. Now, even though its own fancy Switch 2 case isn’t quite ready, it’s giving away this free 3D printed adapter.
Perfect fit, slides right into the dock, doesn’t block ports or vents, it even prints easier than predecessors — as long as you orient it like I show!
Before the patch, the “random” track choice would teleport players to a course for a traditional three-lap race, allowing them to avoid the “intermission” races that require players to drive to the track location where they typically complete just one lap.
Now, the “random” option appears to include both intermission races and ones that teleport everyone to the next track, frustrating players who just want to quickly hop into their next race, as reported by Kotaku.

Two weeks ago, SteelSeries discovered its Nova Pro Wireless and GameBuds were already compatible, but some others were not.
Now, the Nova 7, 7P, 7X, 4, 4P, 4X, 3P, 3X, and Arctis 7+, 7P+ and 7X+ all have updates ready. Sounds like there’s a wrinkle with the lowest-end, though: “Updating Nova 3P/X Wireless is recommended for Nintendo Switch 2 users only,” SteelSeries notes.

Nintendo, Logitech, Razer, Microsoft, Anker, Elgato, Dell, Insta360, Obsbot, Opal — none has answers for us yet, nearly two weeks after the Switch 2 launch.
Thankfully, Reddit’s been crowdsourcing such a list, and we’ve added it to our first-hand testing at the link below! If you know why some webcams don’t work with Switch 2, please drop me an email. Ditto if you know why some HDMI docks and hubs don’t work.
Nintendo Switch 2: Which webcams work?

The Switch 2’s flagship title just got its second patch tonight, following a day-one update for Mario Kart World that enabled the camera and online play.
This new 1.1.1 patch is a smaller update to address glitches that could disable items or controls, or cause the game to shut down suddenly.

Several users on Reddit have spotted a notification that tells them, “Rumble has been turned off due to prolonged use,” as reported earlier by IGN. The pop-up seems to appear during rumble-heavy scenes and gameplay in titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Split Fiction, and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
It’s still not clear why Nintendo added this feature, but it’s possible that it could have something to do with saving Joy-Con battery life.
Vincent Teoh, one of YouTube’s most knowledgeable and thorough TV reviewers, has released a video addressing an issue many Switch 2 owners are struggling with.
If you’re finding Mario Kart World and other titles look washed out when playing through a TV, Teoh explains what’s potentially causing it, what options on your TV may need to be changed, and how to properly calibrate the Switch 2’s HDR settings to make games look more vibrant.
It’s been a couple of weeks since the Switch 2 was finally released into the wild. We here at The Verge have been working hard to bring you a comprehensive review of the console under less than ideal circumstances.
Here’s what we had to say about the Switch 2 Pro Controller and Mario Kart World, currently one of the two first-party Switch 2 exclusive titles. Fortnite got a fresh-feeling coat of paint on the new console and here’s a list of webcams you can use with the Switch 2’s extra USB-C port. And of course, here’s what we think of the actual console itself.
Nintendo Switch 2 review: exactly good enough
The only gamepad that can wake the new console is Nintendo’s own upgraded Pro controller — even the original Switch’s Pro controller can’t. But that could soon change as GuliKit, which previously noted that the Switch 2 “uses a new system protocol,” now says it’s figured out how to get its third-party controllers to wake the handheld.
It demonstrated the functionality in a video shared to X, but hasn’t announced a follow-up software update adding this feature.

Nintendo has kept quiet about the device’s accessibility options, even though it’s off to a good start.

Verge Score
After defining a new category with the original Switch, Nintendo is content sticking with what works.

The Switch 2 is bigger than the original, but how does it compare to a GameCube?
