But then, due to the Trump administration’s rapidly shifting tariffs, Nintendo delayed preorders for the console in the US. Now, Nintendo says Switch 2 preorders will open on April 24th at the previously announced price for the console. However, some accessories, such as the Pro Controller and Joy-Cons, will be a little more expensive. In its Direct, Nintendo shared more hardware details and specs to pore over, like a 1080p, 120Hz 7.9-inch LCD screen, Joy-Con controllers with mouse-like functions, 256GB of storage, and 4K output via the dock. We even know why it’s called the Switch 2 instead of Super Nintendo Switch.
