Razer says its new Atlas Pro is the world’s thinnest glass mouse mat.

The original Atlas is 5mm thick, but the $129.99 Atlas Pro slims that down to just 1.9mm with a 1.1 mm sheet of tempered glass atop a 0.8 mm anti-slip base. The surface of the mat features a micro-etched texture, ensuring it’s compatible with optical sensors, while the edges of the glass have been CNC-milled to create a comfortable rounded finish.

Razer says the Atlas Pro is thinner than a US nickel, but given its size it doesn’t feature any LED lighting.

Valve originally promised an early 2026 launch for its Steam Controller, and it now looks like a price and release date could be imminent. A Steam Controller unboxing video has been spotted in SteamDB, which usually only happens when an announcement is about to happen.

Steam running natively on a Nintendo Switch.

In December, we explained how Valve architected a push for Windows games on Arm — the Steam Frame is just the tip of the iceberg. Now, Valve’s released a public beta of Steam for Arm+Linux (download link) — and one person’s already got it running on a rooted Switch! Can’t play games yet, though.

Turtle Beach’s new flagship gaming headset seems a lot like that other one.

Remember the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless that launched in 2022? It has swappable batteries, ANC, a wireless hub for transmitting audio from multiple sources, simultaneous 2.4GHz and Bluetooth audio — the works. So does the new Stealth Pro II that’s up for preorder now. Notably, it also supports Hi-Res Audio over wireless, an impressive feat at $349.99.

Sony’s wireless gaming earbuds now come in transparent purple.

The InZone Buds lineup made for PS5 and PC have a third color option: Glass Purple. Next to white and black, purple is easily the most stunning choice, albeit the most fingerprint-prone. The sometimes glossy, sometimes matte-textured see-through plastic is used on every component, from the charging case and USB-C transmitter to the earbuds themselves. The gorgeous set is now available for $239.99 from Amazon, Best Buy, and Sony.

Valve may be developing a ‘SteamGPT’ for its own internal use.

Steam code screenshots posted by @gabefollower on X appear to show ‘SteamGPT’ and ‘SteamGPTSummary’ working on support-related tasks. Both seem to be internal tools used for things like task management or pulling account details, such as a player’s trust score and account age.

Valve has released a native visionOS version of its Steam Link app in beta.

“This update improves network performance, allows streaming up to 4K resolutions, and allows you to dynamically adjust the curve of the display in panoramic mode,” Valve says. But the app doesn’t support VR content — it’s intended for streaming 2D games.

April Fools’ 2026: a cat holder for your monitor.

MSI’s April Fools’ prank aims to solve the problem of your cat plopping itself directly atop your keyboard. It showed off an “MEG Cat Holder” that gives your furry friend their very own RGB bed attached to your monitor. As MSI puts it: “Your cat already acts like they own your setup, now they can complete it!”

A popular BeamNG.drive multiplayer mod got hacked.

BeamMP, which lets you play BeamNG.drive’s physics-based vehicle sim with friends, is offline after a hacker infiltrated its infrastructure and shut down its Discord server.

While the BeamMP team says it has “no verified reasons to believe that any end users have been ‘hacked’ as a result of the incident,” the bad actor likely accessed a “database where email addresses and encrypted passwords were stored.”

KDE Plasma outperforms GNOME on Linux with both AMD and Nvidia graphics.

Benchmark test results from Phoronix show KDE Plasma 6.6 consistently outperforming GNOME 50 on Ubuntu 26.04 while using both AMD and Nvidia graphics cards. While these results could vary based on distro and hardware, gamers might want to opt for KDE over GNOME as the desktop environment for their next Linux gaming PC.

AMD says its first CPU with dual 3D V-Cache bridges the gap between workstation and gaming PCs.

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 is a follow-up to last year’s excellent gaming chip, with 16 Zen 5 cores and 208MB of total cachem with the V-Cache split across both chiplets.

However, its upgrades may not do much for gaming alone, with the company’s pitch instead highlighting a 5 - 10 percent performance bump in creative apps like DaVinci Resolve, positioning it as a compromise option between Threadripper CPUs and options like the Ryzen 7 9850X3D.

Intel’s Big Battlemage GPU is imminent — but not for gamers.

A VideoCardz leak has the Arc Pro B70, with 32 Xe2 graphics cores, 32GB of RAM and a 230W TDP, launching next week alongside a B65 with 20 Xe2 cores. It’s not clear if we’ll ever get the B770 gaming variant; Intel deleted a tweet about it in December.

Jensen Huang, on the critical reaction to DLSS 5: “Well, first of all, they’re completely wrong.”

“The reason for that is because, as I have explained very carefully, DLSS 5 fuses controllability of the of geometry and textures and everything about the game with generative AI,” Huang said, according to Tom’s Hardware, and he noted that developers can “fine-tune the generative AI.”

Still, it’s maybe not the best thing to say about the blowback to DLSS 5 right now.
