It looks like professional photographers might soon be able to get a new body for their old Hasselblad H1, H2, or H2F cameras. The company’s website just teased the H4X, a replacement body for those old shooters. Before disappearing, the website said the H4X would bring the advantages of H4 cameras, including off-center focus assistance (True Focus) and the HVD 90x viewfinder from the H3D without giving up H System lens support or any third-party backs that work on the H1, H2, or H2F. It also said there would be a trade-up program for the H4X body at a special price, though it didn’t mention what that price would be. This isn’t the first time Hasselblad has offered such an upgrade deal, but it’s certainly welcome when an H4 camera normally runs in the tens of thousands of dollars.
