The organizers of a new festival taking place on Dracula’s turf are hoping you’ll cough up a little blood to save on your entry fees. Untold is an EDM-centric bash kicking off July 30th in the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca, and it’s combining history and charity to help sell tickets. Attendees who donate blood at one of Romania’s donation centers before July 24th receive 30 percent off the price of their purchase, and anyone who donates at specific hubs in Bucharest and the host city receives a free one-day pass.
This Romanian music festival literally wants your blood

The festival’s motivation is both social and commercial: Romania has one of Europe’s lowest blood donation rates, and being the only festival in the world that gives the red, sticky stuff any entry value is garnering plenty of attention. The Dracula tie-in is natural given the region’s association with Bram Stoker’s 19th century classic, and it makes for an interesting collision between classic fiction and contemporary need. Most of the names at the top of the poster are heavy-hitting producers like Avicii and David Guetta, but I’m particularly intrigued by the inclusion of Ghostface and Raekwon & co.: Untold’s organizers could probably cover every blood type through the Wu alone if they decide to donate too. If you’re interested in making the trip to Romania yourself, just remember that you might have to enter a donation van to enter the Wu-Tang.
