Domino’s, the pizza-company-turned-other-food-company-turned-bastion-of-technological-innovation, is about to test out a new feature in Australia, one that flips the script of allowing customers to track a pizza that’s being delivered. Now the company wants track customers, or at least the ones who choose carry-out over delivery — about 50 to 60 percent of Domino’s business, according to Don Meij, CEO and managing director of Domino’s Pizza Enterprises. The idea is you give the Domino’s app access to your phone’s GPS data, and in exchange, Domino’s will know exactly when to start making your pizza so that it’s fresh when you arrive at the store.
