Last week I told you how much better the MacBook Neo is compared to similarly priced Windows laptops. Now, let me show you.

I couldn’t get past the uncanny valley of looking at an AI avatar listening to my answers.

‘Hacking’ the AI filters probably won’t get you the job.

The new tool in Photoshop Beta lets you turn 2D images into 3D-rotatable objects. I tried it out on a handful of items but wasn’t too impressed with the results. It took normal objects and gave them a very AI-generated look. It’s fun but not super useful.

Videos on YouTube make it seem like one swipe of a scanning pen like this will give you all the answers. I tested it out on math, science, and history questions.
Allow me to walk you through my experience of talking to Microsoft’s Copilot AI on Windows 11 for a week. From the world famous crystal caves of New Jersey to the foremost stocked shelves of BestBuy.com/11BestBuy.

I wanted less complexity, more flexibility, and maximum value for money.

This summer, The Verge’s video team braved 90-degree temps to capture the smart home tech I test and use in my backyard.
From smart chicken coops to robot lawnmowers, smart sprinklers, AI-powered grills, and smart lighting, this tour shows how tech can help you manage, maintain, and get more out of your backyard.

Allison Johnson walks us through Apple’s new iPhone 17 Pro models. Pre-review don’t-hold-me-to-it hot take: orange iPhone 17 Pro Max over the iPhone Air. ALL. DAY. Going to be so easy to find on my next camping trip. Anyway, I’m but a peasant to our Queen Allison. Here’s what she has to say:

Google’s NotebookLM can turn any document into a conversation between two chatbots. Is this the future of podcasting?
A video I made, The real reasons Apple won’t put macOS on the iPad, is nominated for a Webby! We’re currently in second place with only two days left to vote, and we could use your help.
The video team and I would truly appreciate it if you could take a second to vote for us using this link. Thanks so much for your support!

Topaz Labs is letting users try out its Project Starlight diffusion AI model for enhancing and upscaling video, which generates a bunch of detail to less-than-perfect footage. Currently, the free limit is three 10-second clips per week, so I used it on some old VHS camcorder footage.
I’m sorry, Grandpa.
Every year toward the end of our trip to CES, the Verge staff in Las Vegas get together for a team dinner before we head back home.
This year we filmed that dinner, and I moderated a little chat about the trends, vaporware, and other memorable tech from the show floor.
CES 2025 officially wrapped up yesterday, but there was so much stuff that our team saw and wrote about and...smelled while on the ground in Las Vegas.
If your plans this weekend include catching up on all the news you may have missed from CES, there’s no better place to start than our annual best of video!
Though I like the idea of wirelessly connecting to a record player, I rarely use that function. If you do, let me know why!
In case you missed it, The Verge made a print magazine. I’ve seen it in person, and it’s beautiful. (I’m not just saying that because I’m on the cover in both human and goblin forms.) And now for a limited time, you can get your own with a Verge annual subscription.
That’s according to The Verge’s David Pierce. Our video team recently asked reporters from across our newsroom what they think the most memorable tech of 2024 was — and some of their answers might surprise you. Watch below to see if your favorite made our list.

Our latest video runs through the issues involved in resolving that conundrum, and the problems we may encounter if we can’t. Stick around till the end for a bonus “find the AI image” challenge!

Becca Farsace and I pitched this video about finding the smallest television at CES 2024. But once we got to the show floor, we were swallowed up by gigantic 100+” screens, furniture centerpieces, and more TVs that turn into picture frames. As TV tech has progressed, have we forgotten about the tiny portables? Here’s our journey.
