Tumblr updates blog customization tools

Tumblr just rolled out a brand new customization tool that is a huge improvement over the previous version. Where the old version was a clunky mashup of tabs, theme selections, and settings that were hardly logically organized, the refreshed UI makes tweaking your personal log of table flipping GIFs much easier. The old menu at the top of the page with all customization options has been shifted to a left rail, giving you a full, live preview of your page on the right side of the window. Sorted by category, themes are far more browsable, and, once selected, the sidebar reveals simple customization options for color, title, and general appearance or the option to dive into the HTML with an updated code editor. Though users of Internet Explorer are currently stuck with the old tool, this much-needed Tumblr update is available now for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari users.
