Google is extending its free offer on domestic Gmail calls for the US and Canada through 2012. This marks a continuation of Google's program ever since the complimentary calling in Gmail feature was first launched back in August of 2010, and promptly extended for 2011. Google says it's "our way of helping you connect with friends and family across the country." It's also their way to entice you away from Microsoft's Skype service in order to view the company's ads and maybe even collect some fees on the international calls you'll make while testing the service.
