Facebook has certainly taken notice of its photo offerings with (Google+ inspired) updates to the picture viewer on the web and support for high-resolution photos up to 2048 x 2048, and now it’s bringing a minor but significant change to its iPhone, Android, and mobile web apps. As shown above, the news feed on all three mobile versions of the social network now display larger photo previews instead of the abysmally tiny ones that were previously-avaialble (see before on right, after on left in picture above). We’ve been told that the feature is server-side, so you shouldn’t need to update your apps to get the improved layout. For what it’s worth we’re not seeing the changes yet, but it should be rolling out soon.
Facebook updates news feed with larger picture previews on iPhone, Android, and mobile web
Facebook has announced that it will start rolling out an update to its iOS, Android, and mobile web apps that increases the size of picture previews in the news feed. It’s a minor but welcome change that doesn’t require an update -- it’s all server-side.
