RIM’s slimmed down its classic Curve line and thrown on its new OS 7. They’re still not the fastest phones around, but we’ve got all the details.
BlackBerry Curve 9370 launching on Verizon later this month
The BlackBerry Curve 9370 might have been originally announced back in August, but Verizon revealed today that it’s launching on the 19th. Verizon is calling the 9370 the first “global ready” Curve, but beyond that it’s fairly stock BlackBerry fare — a 2.44-inch screen sits above the ubiquitous keyboard, with an 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 1GB of internal storage. It’ll ship with a 2GB microSD card preinstalled, though if you need more space you can add up to 32GB. It also includes NFC support for easy sharing and wireless payment, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 2.0.
Although it’s shipping with Blackberry OS 7.0, Verizon promises that the update to 7.1 is coming soon after launch, bringing mobile hotspot support for up to five devices to the handset. If you’re sold on it, the 9370’s going to cost $99 (with a $50 mail-in rebate) on a two-year plan.

In addition to Sprint’s announcement today that it’ll be carrying the new BlackBerry Curve 9360, UK carrier O2 has just confirmed via Twitter that the new phone will also be available on its network “later this year.” The entry-level smartphone running the new BlackBerry 7 OS still hasn’t been given an official release date or pricing from Research In Motion, but we’ll be updating our information as it becomes available.
