Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) available for pre-order: dual-core processor, $399.99 for 16GB model

Samsung formally announced the 10.1-inch variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 last month, but since then there have been rumors the company would be stopping production to upgrade the device with a quad-core processor. It appears Samsung is sticking with its original plans, with the tablet showing up for pre-order at both Amazon and Office Depot’s online stores, 1GHz dual-core processor intact. The $399.99 tablet features 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 3-megapixel rear-facing camera along with its front-facing shooter. There’s some slight discrepancy between the two sites about when the product will be shipping; Office Depot lists May 11th, while Amazon states that May 13th will be the big day, putting it in line with what Samsung had stated previously. While a 32GB variant is expected, there’s no sign of it yet on either retailer’s site.
