Exactly three months after its last price drop, Verizon has cut the price of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus again — this time to as low as $99.99. The phone is now $149.99 on a two-year contract, with an additional $50 discount if you buy online. As before, it’s still stuck at $649.99 without a contract, but Verizon’s on-contract drop corresponds roughly to the one Google has offered for the unlocked HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus.

For Verizon customers, the Galaxy Nexus offers a stock Android build, an unlockable bootloader, and relatively quick upgrades to the latest version of Android. This discount, however, is also a sign that the device is aging: the much newer Galaxy S III promises none of the above features, but its hardware handily outperforms that of the Galaxy Nexus. Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for the next iteration in Google’s Nexus phone line.
