Samsung is following last year’s Galaxy Gear smartwatch not with one successor, but three. At Mobile World Congress 2014, Samsung announced the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and the Gear Fit. The Gear 2 improves on the Galaxy Gear’s design by shedding a few millimeters of thickness and moving the camera into the housing of the watch. The more affordable Gear 2 Neo is almost exactly the same, but lacks a camera altogether.
Samsung Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and Gear Fit hands-on
The Gear Fit fitness tracker is the biggest departure in the group, featuring a curved AMOLED display and a built-in heart rate monitor. The Fit will display notifications and control your music just like the Gear 2, but people looking to capitalize on Samsung’s S Health fitness tracking app will enjoy the Fit’s improved integration.
