The original Man From UNCLE ran between 1964 and 1968, and told the story of two spies — one American and one Russian — working together in a Cold War world. Guy Ritchie’s movie re-imagining, scheduled to see release this August, keeps the same characters and the same setting, but updates the atmosphere to give the decade a modern sheen. The first trailer for the movie, released today, shows a stylish swinging ‘60s in which spies Napoleon Solo — played by Superman actor Henry Cavill — and Ilya Kuryakin, played by The Social Network’s Armie Hammer, snark at each other as they split time between glitzy outdoor parties and speedboat chases.
