Amazon’s Alexa-everywhere approach to its digital voice assistant means the company has aggressively been pushing its AI companion onto every app and inside every device it can. Starting next week, that ever-growing list will include every Android device, so long as the phone has Amazon’s main shopping app installed. Echo device owners began seeing notifications from Amazon noting the feature rollout, and the company confirmed to TechCrunch today that the feature is indeed coming this week.

As for the specific Alexa feature set you’ll be able to use, don’t think you’ll be restricted to simply asking Alexa about ordering paper towels or buying books. Through the app, you’ll be able to use Alexa just as you can on Echo devices. That means you can ask about the weather, control smart home products, and do general web queries, too. Amazon first brought Alexa to its shopping app on the iPhone back in March, saying at the time that Android implementation would be coming down the line.
