Apple is planning to support Xbox One and PS4 controllers across its range of devices. The controllers will be supported on Apple TV as part of a new tvOS update, finally bringing true controller support to the device. Meanwhile, the iPhone will also get support for both controllers as part of iOS 13, which was announced today. Previously, controller support for both iOS and Apple TV was relegated to select MFi Bluetooth controllers. If nothing else, this should make playing Fortnite on your iPhone with a controller more accessible.

This controller support will arrive just as Apple plans to launch its new Apple Arcade service across all of its devices. Apple Arcade is a game subscription service that curates more than 100 new and exclusive games that will run on the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV.

Update, June 3rd 4:50PM: Added details about controller support for iOS 13.
