Amazon is making it easier to browse your entire library of books

Amazon is rolling out a new feature that puts every book you’ve ever purchased on the site — whether it’s digital, physical, or an audiobook — into a single searchable hub. The new feature, called Your Books, lets you sort through all your titles while also providing recommendations based on your previous purchases.

The main “Library” tab lays out your entire catalog of books, which you can search through based on various filters, such as author, genre, and series as well as some tailored to the titles you currently own, like “Literature & Fiction.” There’s also a tab for saved books that includes every book you’ve ever wishlisted on Amazon.

The Your Books hub can provide recommendations, too. If you turn on the “Discovery mode” feature at the top-right corner of your library page, Amazon will generate recommendations based on each of your books. You can also view recommendations beneath your list of saved books, which you can sort through using several different filters.

I tried out the feature myself, and it seems like it’ll make it a lot easier to keep track of all the books I’ve already read or plan to read. I even found some hidden gems that I have no memory of purchasing, like Chrissy Teigen’s cookbook.

But it does have some issues when it comes to organizing digital comic books and manga. Amazon lumps them into the “Kindle ebook” filter, making them far more difficult to sort. So far, Amazon’s Comixology integration hasn’t gone so well, and the lack of dedicated tools to organize comics and manga isn’t making the transition away from the app any better. The Your Books feature is still a step in the right direction when it comes to managing digital content, but it will need to make some adjustments if it really wants to become an all-in-one hub for all mediums.
