Lutron Caseta smart switches can finally turn themselves off with a timer.

My favorite smart switches are getting a useful upgrade (one they should’ve already had!). A new Auto-Off Timer in the Lutron app lets you set the switches to turn off a set amount of time after turning them on.

This is handy for shutting off bathroom fans or lights in closets without the need to add an additional sensor or set up an automation through a third-party platform.

Wi-Fi switches from companies like Tapo, Leviton, and Meross already have this feature, but it’s good news that it’s coming to the ultra-reliable Caseta line.

You can set a switch to turn off automatically after a set amount of time with no other input needed.
Switches with Auto-Timers set will show a timer icon on the app home page.
