Luigi was originally supposed to be in Super Mario 64.
That much is known, and we did get him in the DS remake of the game. VGC pointed to a video from 1995’s Nintendo Space World show, where Nintendo first showed off early demos and concepts of Super Mario 64, Starfox 64, and The Legend of Zelda.
