The FTC is kinda-sorta-maybe sending a potential warning to Apple about iMessage’s lack of interoperability, perhaps.
The FTC published a vague blog post that says the agency “will closely scrutinize any claims that competition must be impeded to advance privacy or security.” Privacy and security were Apple’s reasons for shutting down Beeper earlier this month.
But the FTC stopped short of committing to specific action against Apple — in fact, Apple isn’t mentioned in the post at all.
