TSMC wants more cash to make chips in the US.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co, the company that’s supposed to spend $40 billion on two chip factories in Arizona, isn’t happy with some of the rules it must follow to receive up to $15 billion in aid under the CHIPS Act, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.
While the Biden Administration asks that the chipmaker share the details about its operations as well as share its profits from its factories, the WSJ says TSMC finds these terms “unacceptable.”
