Amazon’s iRobot acquisition gets UK green light.
The UK’s competition watchdog, the Competition and Markets Authority, has cleared Amazon’s $1.7 billion purchase of the Roomba manufacturer, saying iRobot faces “several significant” robot vacuum cleaner manufacturers in the UK, and the overall market is small and “of limited strategic importance.”
Bloomberg notes that Amazon’s deal still faces reviews by the FTC and European Commission.
