A Microsoft outage took down access to its new Outlook for Windows app today.
An outage that affected users throughout North and South America cut off access to Outlook on the web (OWA) for much of the day (see Downdetector, Bleeping Computer).
The Outlook client apps kept working, but according to posts on r/sysadmin, anyone using the redesigned Outlook for Windows app was also cut off unless they dug into the registry to revert to the old version.
Microsoft now says it’s testing a fix that has shown positive results.
