The US Patent and Trademark Office leaked the addresses of 61,000 filers.
According to a report from TechCrunch, the USPTO inadvertently exposed the private addresses of filers in public records from February 2020 to March 2023.
The agency says the leak affected around three percent of its filers across this time period, and that it “has no reason to believe that the data has been misused.”
