Wikimedia sounds alarm over UK’s Online Safety Bill. Again.
Wikipedia’s operator, the Wikimedia Foundation, is once again warning that the UK’s sprawling and controversial attempt to regulate and age-gate the internet is “simply incompatible” with how it operates.
It wants amendments included in the bill to exempt public interest projects like Wikipedia. Check out Wikimedia’s specific objections in its blog post from last month, and an explainer on the legislation here.
