Former President Jimmy Carter is dead at 100.
Carter, the US’ 39th President, died at his home in Plains, Georgia today.
His Presidency was brief but consequential, as his achievements include signing into law the doubling of the National Park Service and the creation of the Department of Energy, as NPR highlights.
